Mechanism of action
- Dopamine D2 receptorANTAGONIST
DRD2 antagonist
Sertindole was developed as an antipsychotic drug. It is a potent antagonist at dopamine D2, serotonin 5-HT2, and ¿1-adrenergic receptors with high affinity. Additionally, Sertindole suppresses potassium channel in the brain and heart. It also induces both autophagy and ROS generation in neuroblastoma cells.
It has high affinity for dopamine D2, serotonin 5-HT2, and ¿1-adrenergic receptors.
- Serotonin 2 receptors; 5-HT2a & 5-HT2cANTAGONIST
Serotonin 2 receptors; 5-HT2a & 5-HT2c antagonist
Sertindole was developed as an antipsychotic drug. It is a potent antagonist at dopamine D2, serotonin 5-HT2, and ¿1-adrenergic receptors with high affinity. Additionally, Sertindole suppresses potassium channel in the brain and heart. It also induces both autophagy and ROS generation in neuroblastoma cells.
It has high affinity for dopamine D2, serotonin 5-HT2, and ¿1-adrenergic receptors.
- Adrenergic receptor alpha-1ANTAGONIST
Adrenergic receptor alpha-1 antagonist
Sertindole was developed as an antipsychotic drug. It is a potent antagonist at dopamine D2, serotonin 5-HT2, and ¿1-adrenergic receptors with high affinity.
