A transcriptional coactivator protein highly expressed in SMOOTH MUSCLE CELLS and CARDIOMYOCYTES. It functions as a cofactor for SERUM RESPONSE FACTOR and regulates smooth muscle contraction, smooth muscle CELL DIFFERENTIATION, and cardiac muscle development.
