Chronic kidney diseases not associated with traditional RISK FACTORS, e.g., TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS and HYPERTENSION, but rather with infectious diseases, exposure to environmental toxins, or other unknown factors. They are most prevalent in agricultural communities of DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.
