    FSHR agonist

    Corifollitropin alfa is a recombinant long-acting follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) agonist for the treatment of infertility. It is similar to FSH, a natural hormone in the body that stimulates the production of eggs in the ovaries. The ß subunit of clorifollitropin alfa contains the carboxy-terminal peptide of human chorionic gonadotropin to prolong its activity in the body. As a result a single dose of the medicine can be given to stimulate egg production for seven days, thereby replacing daily injections that would be required with other FSH medicines.
